PeyfuPeyfu Chess
Free online chess with a friend or a bot
Open Peyfu Chess in your browser, share a three-digit code with a friend and start a game in seconds. No friend online? Practise against the bot and pick the clock that suits you.

Play with a friend using a three-digit code
Start a game and Peyfu Chess gives you a short code. Your friend types it on their phone or computer and you are paired, wherever you are. There is nothing to download and no account to create.
Practise against the bot
Warm up, try an opening or replay a position against the computer. It is a calm way to learn before you challenge a friend.
Choose your clock
Pick a time control before you start: a fast game for a coffee break or a longer one when you want to think. The clock keeps both players honest.
Chess rules in one minute
Each side has 16 pieces: a king, a queen, two rooks, two bishops, two knights and eight pawns. White moves first. You win by checkmate: the enemy king is attacked and has no safe square.
- Castling: king and rook move together if neither has moved and the path is safe
- En passant: a pawn can capture a pawn that just jumped two squares past it
- Promotion: a pawn that reaches the last rank becomes a queen (or another piece)
- Draw: stalemate, threefold repetition or not enough pieces to mate
